Light sources provide the light which is to be transmitted down the fibres. They typically contain a lamp with reflector, starter gear or transformer, and a fan along with optional effects such as colour change or twinkle wheel and control systems.

All Fans fitted to our light sources are of a quiet type and we can supply EPDM mats if they are being sat on a resonant surface. Glass type light sources provide slightly more light than the type for polymer fibre, but are only suitable for use with glass fibre as they could damage polymer fibre. Polymer type light sources can be used with either fibre type. The two main types of light source offered by Universal Fibre Optics are Alogenuri Metallici and Alogeno and we also offer a range of accessories to enhance and protect the light source.
